Unconnected Spann Family Lines

The following people have sent me email over the past few years with queries I could not answer.

I am posting them here in case anyone else can help them.

   Mike,

This is all I have on my great grandfather, James H. Spann.

    James H. Spann
      Born: 1851 Place: Louisiana
      Died: 1882 Place: Floresville, Texas
Marr: 24 Dec 1876 Place: Madisonville, Madison Co., Tx

    To: Martha Ann Mosley
Born: Aug 1856 Place: Montgomery Co., Tx
Died: 13 Feb 1887 Place: Texas

    Children of James and Martha:

      Nora Spann b. 10 Mar 1879
Judy Spann b. 17 Nov 1880 (my grandmother)
      James Richard Spann b. 22 Apr 1882

All I know of his parents is that his father was born in Alabama,
and his mother was born in Mississippi.

I would really like to know who his parents were. I spent most of
yesterday checking census records hoping to find his parents, but so far
have been unsuccessful. You are so right about James being a very popular
name.

Mike, I know my information is scant, but you would be helping me
greatly if you could match me up with my James Spann. He has always been
our mystery man.

Just found this spot on the Web. My father-in-law, Jack O. Spann is
researching. I have been in the family for only two years. I think he
is currently looking for information on Spanns around Missouri. My
husband, Lawrence Edward Spann was born in Sherman,Texas in 1943. If
you think you might be interested, I can provide more information at a
later date.

Mike Spann:
I would be interested in your Spann Line so that if I ever get unstuck in
Kentucky
I will have some information on relationships. I seems there were at least
two Spann families in Virginia. It looks like you are descended from Francis
Spann from your notes. I am stuck in Kentucky , descendent of Soloman
Spann, killed in Civil War , living in Illinois at time of enlistment. I do
however have info on Virginia Spanns. ~Paula Larkin~

Subject: Spann research in UK

Hi Mike

As you can see tis is a resend.
Can you please add me to your researchers list. I am researching my
family line, predominantly in Cheshire -UK, however I am also looking
at all Spann's in the UK, not officially a one name study though. I
have a home page of sorts at www.spann.supanet.com which I hope to
develop when I have the time - it is used to try to capture like
interested people at the moment.

Cheers for now
